Prerequisites
| Completion of course (1609) Designing Data Services and Data Models or experience using a Microsoft Windows operating system, an understanding of database fundamentals and familiarity with the role of the database administrator or eqilivelent experience. |
Course Objectives
| This course provides the necessary knowledge and skills required to write basic Transact-SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Participants will learn to describe the use of and ways to execute the Transact-SQL language, use querying tools, write SELECT queries to retrieve data and group and summarise data by using Transact-SQL. Students will also link data from multiple tables, write queries that retrieve and modify data by using sub-queries, modify data in tables and query text fields with full-text search. |
