Who Should Attend

Windows 2000 network administrators, system architects, consultants, senior IT professionals, messaging architects and anyone responsible for planning and deploying Exchange 2000 Server within an enterprise organisation, MCP and MCSE candidates.
Candidates for this course typically work or plan to work in medium to large computing environments with multiple physical locations, mixed client connection protocols, and Internet messaging connectivity.

Prerequisites

Completion of courses (1560) Updating Support Skills from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 or (2154) Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services, (1572) Implementing and Managing Microsoft Exchange 2000 and basic knowledge and experience of Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.x or later would be an advantage.

Course Objectives

This course provides the necessary knowledge and skills required to plan the deployment of Microsoft's Exchange 2000 Server, across enterprise networks. The course covers fundamental design principles and processes required to achieve the optimum design, while considering an organisation's business needs.
Students primarily learn how to evaluate and incorporate Windows 2000 Active Directory designs in conjunction with Exchange 2000 designs. This is followed by designing administrative groups and authorities for management purposes, message routing topologies, public folder replication, network protection from internal and external threats, server roles and server placement and the design of management and operations plans. Real life case studies are evaluated to re-enforce knowledge.
