Who Should Attend

Experienced network administrators, system engineers and designers responsible for the planning, deployment and ongoing support of Exchange Server 2000, MCP and MCSE candidates.


Prerequisites

Completed course (1560) Updating Support Skills from Windows from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000, or course (2154) Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services, or equivalent working knowledge. Working knowledge of fundamental networking principles, TCP/IP connectivity and experience using DNS and IIS servers.


Course Objectives

This course teaches you the fundamental skills needed to manage Microsoft's Exchange Server 2000 in a small business enterprise. Participants learn how to install, configure, administer, support and maintain Exchange servers and clients. The course covers installation, day-to-day management, configuration and implementation of Microsoft Exchange. It comprehensively covers the Exchange server architecture and component interaction, as well as intra-site and inter-site communications. Finally, students learn about the supported Internet protocols and how to connect Exchange server to the Internet. Students are also trained on disaster recovery strategies to maintain MS Exchange to minimise down time.
This course is recommended in conjunction with course (1573) Designing Microsoft Exchange 2000 for the Enterprise and Course 2355, Upgrading Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000
