| Individuals who are new to Windows 2000, network administrators and support professionals responsible for the administration and support of Windows 2000 networks, MCP and MCSE candidates |
Prerequisites
| A working knowledge or equivalent experience using and configuring the Windows interface, general knowledge of common computer hardware components such as hard disks, memory, CPUs, basic networking knowledge of networking operating systems, LANs, clients and servers |
Course Objectives
| This introductory course teaches the basic knowledge and skills needed to understand and perform the daily administrative and support tasks performed by Windows 2000 administrators and support professionals. The course also provides knowledge of fundamental networking concepts and principles, and how they are implemented in Windows 2000.

| Participants primarily learn the principal features of Windows 2000 and how to network and administer Windows 2000. The course provides foundation knowledge of common topologies, networking architectures, protocols and data communication methods. Candidates learn about the TCP/IP suite of protocols and how to implement them and manage them in a Windows 2000 network. This includes the understanding of Web Services, FTP services, remote network access and secure Internet access. Throughout the course, students receive hands-on experience using Windows 2000 tools and utilities to practice their theory. |
